Garmin CIRQA Smart Band – Launch is imminent
Garmin is on the verge of unveiling the CIRQA – the long-awaited display-free fitness wearable. After the product name was first spotted on Garmin’s own website several months ago, the signs pointing to an imminent market launch have recently become increasingly clear.
Garmin’s CIRQA has already attracted considerable attention. Alongside plenty of accurate, albeit not particularly informative, reporting, numerous claims have also circulated that appear to have originated from one AI or another and were not always subjected to much critical reflection. By now, however, the many small pieces of information paint a much more complete picture, making it worthwhile to take a closer look at what is actually known about Garmin’s display-free tracker – without giving too much attention to some of the nonsense that has been circulating over the past few weeks and months.
Garmin CIRQA – A Timeline
Let’s take a look at the sequence of events, along with some completely new pieces of information:
- January 2026
A previously unknown product called “CIRQA” appeared on Garmin’s own website, where an attentive Reddit user spotted it. Before Garmin could remove both the listing and its indexing from the various search engines, speculation quickly ran wild. The excitement, however, died down again fairly quickly.
- April 2026
Garmin filed a trademark for the name “CIRQA” with the United States Patent and Trademark Office in February 2026. The filing was not made public until April 2026. It describes sensors designed to measure physiological and vitality-related data. At the same time, it also references measurements relating to recovery from physical and emotional stress.
- May 2026
A Ukrainian online retailer listed the Garmin CIRQA for the first time. With very little solid information available, news websites and blogs quickly picked up the story. The product image and pricing were fabricated. Anyone wanting to judge the credibility only had to look at the already-listed Fenix 9. Moreover, the rumored price of more than €400 is well beyond what even Garmin could realistically charge.
- July 2026
Garmin also registered the CIRQA trademark in Canada and the United Kingdom. The applications date back to mid-June, but the information did not become public until July.
A few days later, rumors began circulating that the product has already appeared inside the Garmin Connect app. The community quickly splitted into optimists and skeptics. Once again, generative AI is responsible for many of the reports. And once again, common sense suggested the obvious: these were not images of a wearable from 2026 – they looked more like something from 2014.
The latest development once again comes from a Reddit user who used the product number leaked back in January to search Garmin’s own servers for additional information. Aside from confirming the official retail price of €199, however, very little new has surfaced.
What Do We Actually Know About the Garmin CIRQA?
The wearable known as the CIRQA is a display-free fitness tracker – the first of its kind in Garmin’s portfolio – putting it in the company of
- Amazfit Helio Strap
- Fitbit Air
- Polar Loop
- Whoop
It’s rare for Garmin to arrive later than the competition. The Helio Strap in particular from Amazfit has demonstrated the potential of this type of device and highlighted the size of the market for a product that stays out of the way in everyday life, remains reasonably affordable, and doesn’t have to compete directly with expensive sports watches in order to be compelling.
Two Sizes and Four Colors
The information leaked from Garmin’s website has already revealed that Garmin will offer the band in the following sizes
- S/M (120–200 mm wrist circumference)
- L/XL (145–240 mm wrist circumference)
in colors of Black and French Grey.
Official images of the CIRQA that have since reached me also show the band in Midnight Blue and a dark pastel Rose. The case itself is made of black plastic across all variants. In everyday use, however, very little of it will likely be visible, as the band wraps completely over the front of the housing.

Textile, Interchangeable Hook-and-Loop Band
The textile strap is very similar in design to the Helio Strap. It consists of a single continuous strap, can be adjusted in length using a colour-coordinated loop, and is fastened with a Velcro fastener. Small spring bars allow the band to be detached from the sensor unit and replaced.
The word “Wrist” printed on the inside suggests that Garmin may also offer bands designed for upper-arm wear.
No Prominent Garmin Branding
Since the AI-generated images prompted considerable criticism over the supposedly oversized Garmin logo, here’s some reassurance: the band itself carries the Garmin logo only in very small embossed lettering at the end of the strap, while the housing features a subtle black-on-black embossed Garmin logo on the side.
Elevate V4 Sensor
A look at the back of the CIRQA is somewhat surprising, as it features a sensor with two green LEDs and a diamond-shaped diode arrangement that strongly resembles the fourth generation of Garmin’s Elevate PPG sensor.
It’s entirely possible that Garmin has further refined the aging sensor. Electrodes for measuring electrodermal activity are not visible in the available images. However, that is unlikely to be the only method Garmin uses to assess emotional stress.
Single-Button Operation & LED
Also surprising is the wave-shaped button on the right side of the case – Amazfit, Whoop, and Fitbit all manage without one. Until the official press release is published, however, its function remains unclear. A small circular feature on the opposite side of the housing also cannot yet be identified with certainty. At its simplest, it’s likely to be a small built-in status LED that could indicate, for example, the battery charge level.
4-Pin Charging Cable
Among the smaller surprises, the 4-pin charging connector almost brings with it a certain sense of familiarity.
Although this is by no means a complete specification, I hope to be able to provide some further details. As Garmin has not yet released any official information, all details should be taken with a pinch of salt.
Pricing and Availability
Based on the information published over the weekend, the official retail price has now been confirmed at $199. That makes Garmin’s new wearable roughly twice as expensive as both the Amazfit Helio Strap and the Fitbit Air, while matching the upfront price of the Whoop, which, however, comes with substantial ongoing subscription costs. It remains to be seen how many of the CIRQA’s metrics and features Garmin will place behind its subscription model.
Speaking of waiting: the wait for the CIRQA is likely to last only a few more days. Even without official launch dates or semi-official retailer listings, the recent increase in activity is a strong indication that the CIRQA’s launch is imminent. A release within the next few days appears to be the most likely scenario.
